Yung Kai - Stay With The Ocean I'll Find You

Hello to the first ever review. I am Pinwell and we are going to review Yung Kai's Debut stay with the ocean i'll find you.

Now i have heard of Mr Yung Kai mostly through his single blue which blew up last year then i discovered his work and actually anticipated for the album which is strange as the music on Yung Kai's album is nothing like my taste in music(closest is like laufey) although i do enjoy his singles before (which most of them are included on this debut album) especially since i loathe most pop music in this decade but let us dive no further into this "album" BUT FIRST

Now you may notice if you listened to most of yung kai most of his songs are about one thing:Love, actually to think about it this album is like The Magnetic Field's 69 Love Songs just rename this album to "13 Love Songs" and there ya go! But there is one clear difference 69 Love Songs was about all sorts of love Romantical, Sexual, abusive and even the non hetero love! but this album just deals with Romantical love and it is only one genre but enough bout the comparisons! lets get into it

Now the actual review

first let us start with the first song "Blue" which is the track i mentioned previously as its the most popular of mr Yung Kai but this song is a pretty good starter of the album it has a nice guitar and the lyrics are pretty normal lovesong type of lyrics. I can see a bunch of similarities between this and Golden Hour but i do not like Golden Hour due to it being so overplayed but other than that it's a pretty solid song and i really love that hook, Next up is "Wildflower" which has this upbeat drum pattern and the guitar i really love about this song it gives off a honey mixed with ginger feeling same with the chorus this might be my favourite song on the Album pity it's really short but anyways the next song is "How Do You Dance?" which starts off with a guitar that really remind's me of King Crimson's Discipline but i dont really like the drum machine however the thing that is saving this song is the chorus it's so freakin catchy!!! it makes me wanna dance waltz, next song is "My Light" which is a piano ballad with a chinese chorus(Heh that rhymed!) i like the way it flows together but there isnt that much to say so lets move into "My Love x3" which is a nice softer song, a good calmer to the more energetic tracks.Let us head straight to "Do You Think You Could Love" which i dont really have anything to say it's just fine but here is where my flaws start with this album: this album is jsut so repetitive! there is no intresting instruments no change of pace and no other song meanings other than:"I love you you're pretty like the flowers of the garden" and it actually pisses me off the only song to note from the second side is "Beach Song" with asumuh who has more ruffer vocals which i really love. Another thing to note is the intro of "I Hope My Cat Loves Me" which was sadly not about his cat :((( but anyways i really like the start which starts with a tape stopping but it's the same after that and that is the end of the album! it is good when its good but when it's bad it's just very very boring but anyways let us see the rating of this album!

Favourite Track:Wildflower

Worst Track:Tell Me (A Lullaby)
